Peter West was in an excellent mood. For months he and his family had been looking forward to a luxury cruise around the Mediterranean, and they were due to set sail the next day. He had already arranged to park his car at Southampton for the duration of the cruise, so he set the alarm clock for a 6 AM call so that he would have plenty of time to drive down from his home in Cheshire. By this time he was over an hour late in setting of, but he had allowed plenty of time for the journey, which went off without mishap. Upon arriving at Southampton he handed the car over to the car parking company, boarded the cruise liner for the holiday of his lifetime.

Two weeks later he drove back from Southampton without mishap. By the time he arrived back home his own car had been repaired, is next-door neighbour received a crate of champagne in exchange for the loan of the car, and everyone was happy!
